(RUBY ELANOR JAMES)
It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you a heart worth breakin'
I've been wrong, I've been down
To the bottom of every bottle
Despite words in my head
Scream "Are we having fun yet?"
It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you a heart worth breakin'
I've been wrong, I've been down
To the bottom of every bottle
Despite words in my head
Scream "Are we having fun yet?"

( BEST MEMORY ) WHEN SHE FIRST REALISED HER POWER - SHE HAD JUST LEARNED THAT A CHILDHOOD FRIEND HAD DIED, AND IT BEGUN TO RAIN, AND THE MORE SHE CRIED, THE MORE IT RAINED. WHEN SHE CALMED DOWN, THE RAIN FADED TO DRIZZLE. THE NEXT MORNING, PEOPLE AT HER SCHOOL WERE MAKING JOKES ABOUT THE DEATH, AND ANGER FILLED HER. AS SHE RAGED AND SHOUTED, THE WINDS PICKED UP, WINDOWS SMASHED INTO THEIR FRAMES AND TERROR FILLED THE ROOM AS IT SEEMED AS THOUGH A HURRICAINE HAD HIT. RUBY, DISTRACTED BY THE STORM, FORGOT HER ANGER, AND THE WINDS IMMEDIATELY CALMED. THAT NIGHT, CURIOUS ABOUT THE WAY HER MOODS HAD RELATED EXACTLY TO THE WEATHER, SHE LOOKED UP AT THE CLOUDY SKY, WILLING THE CLOUDS TO MOVE SO SHE COULD SEE THE STARS, AND, TO HER AMAZEMENT, THEY DID.
( WORST MEMORY ) LOSING HER FIRST LOVE. RUBY HAD NEVER KNOWN MUCH ABOUT LOVE, AND NOW ONLY REMEMBERS THAT IT CAUSES PAIN. THIS HAS MADE HER RELUCTANT TO INTERACT WITH ANYONE FOR FEAR OF FALLING IN LOVE...

Katie nodded as the stranger apologized again, eyes down, focused on her hand, wiping the droplets of water onto her jeans, making a little damp patch on her thigh. Ah well, at least it was dark. Not so noticeable. She would have found some way to ruin her outfit or embarrass herself in some way anyway. She almost always did. Perfection she strived for, but rarely got it. 'Do I know you?' he asked. She looked up, dropping her hand to her side. That question she got asked a billion times. Yeah, when you're in a band, it's easy to be forgotten as the bassist, backing vocalist, if you've got a hot guy as the lead singer. Katie couldn't wait for the day to come when she could make her break for freedom and become a solo artist.
She smiled wryly, "Ah, probably. I'm Katie-Lou Rivera," she held out her hand to shake his. This was usually the point where people go 'oh yeah, of course, I remember...' when actually they only vaguely remember the surname and don't link it to her band at all until they get home and read up her latest embarrasing interview... Her cheeks turned pink and she scolded herself for blushing for randomly in front of a stranger. A particularly hot stranger at that. Ooh, he's polite, too. Katie thought as he offered to buy her another bottle. She smiled, partly at her own stupid thoughts and partly at him. "Nah, it's okay. I was nearly finished, anyway,

I was nearly finished, anyway,
To demonstrate her point, she flicked her wrist, aiming at a trash can. The bottle flew the five foot distance and hit the side rim of the can, landing neatly in the center. She smiled a little proudly at her improved aim. As stated earlier, she wasn't the most careful or co-ordinated of people. So now she stood there feeling like a total lemon with her arms at her sides, awkwardly looking around now that conversation seemed to have died off. She folded one arm across her stomach and gazed around innocently, waiting for the guy to lose interest and go away, unless he had actually made the link between her and Since Sin, which she doubted.
But then came another question and she turned her head with a smile to see that the guy stood there still, his can of Dr Pepper in hand. "Nah, I'm driving tonight," she said with another little smile, hand dropping to pat once the pocket that held her car keys. It made the desired jingling sound and she continued. "I drink far too much, I should cut down a bit, really," she smiled nervously, cheeks turning a deeper shade of pink. Katie wasn't a good drunk. Her inability to contain her emotions mixed with alcahol often produced hilarious (to other people) results, and then Katie rarely remembered what happened the morning after, and spent the day revieving funny looks from other people. She looked down, ashamed.
