( HISTORY ) Lestat ran from home when he was just eleven years old, not wanting to go home to his family even after 13 years of homelessness. He is constantly unable to control his emotions, but the one thing he was always sure about was that he and his family were never going to be happy. He was so confused about how he was feeling that the day he was bruised severely by a vampire, he almost enjoyed it.

The first time he was attacked by a vampire he was saved by his own father of whom he hadn't seen in years, but Lestat was too far gone to tell his father that he loved him, so he let the man go without even recognition that the boy he saved was his son. When he later found out his father had committed suicide, he repressed this memory. When he was attacked a second time, nobody heard him scream. He was sired, and his only dreams were of killing and torture. He was almost killed several times over his first year as a vampire, too many hunters were roaming Venice and so he was forced to move to South Louisiana which had become a personal feeding ground.

On his 200th birthday he injured a bleeding child, and a spark of humanity stirred inside him and caused him to take that child to the hospital and run off. He had regretted it ever since and even tried to slice a large wooden stake through his heart once before his vampire sense kicked in at the last moment.
