Large padded paws graced the floor hesitantly. The old, decrepit building had caught Adelaide's attention. Her nosed brushed the ground; with scents filling her nasal cavity rich and powerful. Although sleek and well muscled in her wolf form, her fur was not as soft and lustrous as it had once been. Still, her even movements over the solid ground could not mistake good health. Addy carefully made her way over the broken off bits of plaster, brick, glass, and whatever else might be happened upon. In the midday sun she felt hot, her coat warm and heavy. Pink tongue rolled to one side as she panted a little.
Taking a slow meandering pace she eventually found herself inside the building. If it could be called that, anyhow. Addy easily picked up on what this place once was. The tell-tale signs included a toppled over desk with its chair torn from it but a few feet away. This was interesting to her and Addy immediately made to shift back. Bones creaked and the fur seemed to melt. Her joints realigned themselves and standing upright as the gray-white fur was replaced by tight clothing. The long snout became her human nose. Stretching as she always did once changed in form, wringing out muscles and feeling rather limber.
So this was an old school. Her green eyes first took notice of the leftover furniture. Anything consisting of wood had mostly rot, bugs crawled about. Adelaide could not help but wrinkle her nose in distaste. Then there was a dry erase board. Only half remained on the wall scratched beyond use; the rest was not seen and she could only see the wind having carried it away as a sullied prize. For now at least Addy would stay here. Not a permanent home of course. But until she could find a place in town. The old school had some shelter, even with missing chunks of roof and wall, from the common rain and sun and wind.
From here she would just have to see if there were any other residents.
