The afternoon was slowly giving to evening. The warm air had hardly cooled, though it was not as hot as previous days. Perched in a rather tall tree Addy surveyed the area. She knew a town was not far off from here. Having brushed the outskirts of it the previous day and quickly deciding that getting a 'lay of the land' would be the best course to take at this point. She tugged idly at the sleeve of her favorite jacket. The woolly red plaid was thick and most likely unnecessary in the warm evening air. But it was comforting, one of the few clothing articles she had brought from home. Below her Chessy nickered.
Giving a shake of her blackened-blue head, the horse seemed at peace and rather nonchalant. Adelaide had not tied the horse in case wild animals or misbehaving werewolves and vampires. It had been a long time since she had fought anyone and the best bet would be to run if anyone came along with unwanted intentions.
"Seems pretty peaceful here...like Leland. Suiting, don't ya think?" She said, though Adelaide was talking to herself rather than her companion. A habit that had developed more and more and became most evident when she went off to hunt. Last time her distraction of speaking to herself scared off the blacktail deer. In the attempt to still pursue it Addy had fallen, bad, down a steep hill and amongst rocks. The three small scars at the base of her throat where the only signs left of the misadventure, she was lucky to not have broken anything.
Finding nothing visually unusual she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her scenting ability and hearing were not nearly as good as in her wolf form but could be improved upon if sight were absent. A small refreshing breeze brought the heavy, damp earthen smell. With it all manner of decay, leaves primarily. The smell of horse, obviously, was evident. The breeze also told her that werewolves did live somewhere in town. Any werewolf, or shifter, and many other creatures could recognize that odor.
Tonight would be her last night in the woods hopefully.
